How to Make Matcha that ACTUALLY Tastes Good!

For the last couple of years, starting my morning with a Matcha Latte has been a must!

Initially, I wasn’t a fan of matcha.

I first tried it at my favorite local cafe and thought it tasted like weird, hot, fishy, wheatgrass. Uh.. no thanks!!

I kept seeing all my favorite wellness bloggers RAVING about Matcha and I basically thought they were crazy!

I started to educate myself and learned that quality of the matcha makes a HUGE difference! You will typically see three different grades of Matcha: Ceremonial, latte and culinary grade.

I personally stick with organic ceremonial grade matcha because it has the smoothest, least bitter taste.

Every morning, I combine homemade cashew milk with Encha Matcha, Sunfood Maca, Om Mushroom Powder, Sunwarrior Protein Powder, raw local honey and virgin, unrefined coconut oil.Image 2.jpeg

These ingredients have so many amazing health benefits! Matcha is great for helping you feel focused, naturally energized and it works wonders for your skin! Maca is great for boosting energy and helping to balance hormones. The variety of mushroom powders I use support the immune system, boost cognitive health, support a healthy nervous system, assist with detoxification, help balance hormones and boosts your mood. I also use raw local honey which is actually the only animal product I consume. Raw local honey has been my savior from seasonal allergies, it is rich in antioxidants and has antibacterial and antifungal properties! Last but not least, we have coconut oil! Coconut oil is great for helping you feel full, boosts your energy and aids with digestion.

Now for the recipe…

  • 1 Cup Homemade Cashew Milk
  • 1 Cup Room Temperature Water
  • 2 Cups Hot Water (175 Degrees or less! If the water is too hot, it can burn the matcha)
  • 1 tsp Matcha
  • 2 tsp Maca
  • 2 tsp Mushroom Powder
  • 1 tsp Sunwarrior Protein Powder (I like the Natural flavor best!)
  • 1 tbsp Raw Local Honey
  • 1 tsp Virgin, Unrefined Coconut Oil

Combine all of these ingredients into a blender, blend, and you are good to go!!

I’d love to hear what your go to morning beverage is!! Let me know down below in the comments!!
