Matcha, Maca & Baobab! Oh my!

For years, I was a huge coffee fan. Ok, I will admit it. I was a coffee addict! I need to drink at least one cup of coffee (with stevia and coconut or cashew milk) and couldn’t start my day without it. I began to notice that it left me feeling jittery and anxious without affecting my energy levels at all.

Scrolling through my Instgram feed, I noticed several of the kickass health superstars I followed were obsessing over matcha! It almost seemed too good to be true, but I was curious. I had been drinking green tea in the mornings for years but it didn’t quite give me to boost I was looking for. Maybe matcha was exactly what I was missing?!?

I stumbled upon the company Organic Burst and fell in love with their commitment to providing the highest quality products.  Their website drew me in and I had to try some of their other products as well! I ordered the Matcha, Maca and Baobab. Read about their benefits below!

Matcha: 

Matcha is excellent for helping you to feel alert, focused and calm. Matcha has an amino acid in it called L-Theanine. L-Theanine is basically nature’s Xanax. It promotes relaxation, reduces stress, improves sleep. Unlike xanax, it helps to boosts alertness and concentration instead of leaving you in a fog.

Matcha has so many other amazing benefits. It helps break down stored fat, stabilizes blood sugar levels and keeps your immune system strong. Matcha powder has all of the benefits of green tea in a concentrated form!!

Maca:

Maca is rich in vitamin B, C and E. Maca is also full of calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and phosphorus. It great for sustained energy, helping to balance hormones and stabilizing mood. It is also said to help boost libido in men and women and increase fertility.

Baobab: 

Baobab is a superfood that I had never heard of before. Baobab energizes and helps you to feel alert. Baobab helps maintain the alkaline balance within your body, boost your immune system and helps electrolyte balance. Baobab works wonders for you skin by supporting collagen formation due to the high levels of vitamin C. It is also a powerful antioxidant.

Amazing Meal Protein Powder: Original Blend

A little over a year and a half ago, I was searching for a protein powder to add to smoothies that not only tasted good, but was diet approved and didn’t have any negative side effects. Many of the powders I tried out before buying Amazing Meal left me feeling bloated, nauseous or resulted in bad gas, which I think is safe to say that no one wants to experience that.

I tried a variety of different products from Vega, RAW Protein (Garden of Life), RAWR Protein and a few others. Many of the “healthy” or “clean” protein powders on the market had added sugars, animal products, chemicals/preservatives and just didn’t taste that great.

Amazing Meal is Organic, vegan, raw, non GMO, dairy free, gluten free, has no refined sugar, is cold processed and kosher. Diet Approved!! They have added probiotics which are great for balancing the good bacteria in your gut. The vitamins and minerals you get from one serving of amazing meal are almost equivalent to your daily needs.

I add one or two scoops to my green smoothies every morning and I can’t taste a thing! I feel energized and refreshed after drinking my Amazing Meal smoothies.

Before starting my morning smoothie routine, I had trouble eating in the mornings. I never had much of an appetite. Drinking a tasty green smoothie with Amazing Meal Protein Powder has helped train both my stomach and my brain that I need breakfast. Now, I crave them every morning.

My favorite Amazing Meal Smoothie Recipe:

Green Tropical Smoothie:

2 cups of raw spinach (blended with coconut water)

1 cup of frozen Mango

½ fresh Mango

1 large slice of Pineapple (about 2 cups)

1-2 scoops of Amazing Meal

2-3 pitted dates

Chia & Flax

2 cups of Apple Juice

Ice

Blend and enjoy your smoothie!!
